The 3rd edition of the European Hotel & Restaurant Awards, organized by the magazine Références Hôteliers Restaurateurs International, in partnership with Champagne Collet, was held in Barcelona on Saturday February 1, 2020 in the grounds of the W Barcelona hotel, Marriott group. During this prestigious evening many professionals, personalities and journalists were present.

Under the honorary presidency of MrGuillaume Gomez, head chef at the Elysée Palace for the Presidency of the French Republic from 2013 to 2021 and President of the Chefs de la République, the European Hotel & Restaurant Awards reward great professionals chosen from all European countries. The trophies are awarded on an honorary and institutional basis, taking into account the human qualities, professional skills of the winners and the achievement of a recognized remarkable career. They are awarded either individually or collectively. They are not part of any pageant or other professional competition.

The pre-selection and final selections are managed by a board sitting within the European Hotel Awards Academy. As far as the selection committee is concerned, it is made up of personalities (MEP, mayor of major European cities, consuls, etc.) and great professionals from the world of European hotels and restaurants. The trophies are gold-patinated sculptures designed by the Schaffner establishments in Alsace, designer of the portal of honor at the Elysée Palace in Paris. In the EHA 2020 selection, nine trophies were awarded.

The ceremonial evening took place in the VIP lounges of the W Barcelona hotel from 7:30 p.m. with the participation of Deliciae.tv and was followed by a Gala dinner orchestrated by 3 chefs: Romain Fornell (Caelis*), Carles Abellan (La Barra) and Roman Gernoth (W Barcelona)
