European Hotel Awards 2026: Celebrating European Hospitality Excellence
The European Hotel Awards 2026 were held on Monday, 28 September 2026, at the prestigious Grand Hotel del Mare Resort & Spa in Bordighera, on the Italian Riviera.
The ceremony brought together leading hoteliers, hospitality executives, owners, institutional representatives and professionals from across Europe for an international celebration of hospitality, leadership and the art of welcoming.
Under the presidency of Michel Stalport, the European Hotel Awards 2026 Selection Board recognised hotels, hospitality professionals, destinations and institutions whose achievements reflect the diversity, identity and vitality of contemporary European hospitality.
The European Hotel Awards were founded by Jérôme Chapman, with the friendly support of Thierry Lavalley, former President of the Geneva Hoteliers Association and international hotel general manager.
From landmark European hotels and independent properties to hospitality leaders, historic destinations and European institutions, the European Hotel Awards 2026 winners illustrate different expressions of one shared ambition: preserving the culture and identity of European hospitality while continuing to evolve for future generations of travellers.

A European Celebration on the Italian Riviera
Hosted at the Grand Hotel del Mare Resort & Spa, the 2026 European Hotel Awards brought together personalities and professionals representing different cultures, destinations and generations of European hospitality.
The 21 distinctions presented in Bordighera reflect the breadth of Europe’s hospitality landscape: palace hotels, historic properties, urban destinations, boutique hotels, resorts, wine estates, international hotel groups, independent establishments, tourism institutions and hospitality professionals whose work contributes directly to the guest experience.
Beyond individual distinctions, the European Hotel Awards seek to recognise the people, establishments and destinations that preserve hospitality as a profoundly human profession — one in which service, culture, emotion, leadership and attention to detail remain essential.
“True hospitality is revealed not through luxury alone, but through the sincerity of the welcome, the elegance of intention, and the emotions that remain long after the stay.”
— Michel Stalport, President – European Hotel Awards 2026
European Hotel Awards: Looking Ahead to 2027
Following the 2026 edition in Bordighera, the European Hotel Awards are entering a new phase of international development. The institution is preparing an evolution of its Board and strategic structure for 2027, strengthening its European dimension, international presence and long-term engagement with the hospitality industry.
The European Hotel Awards will continue to create meaningful connections between hospitality professionals, distinguished establishments, destinations and institutions across Europe while remaining committed to the values at the heart of the initiative: excellence, authenticity, independence, human connection and the art of hospitality.
